Episode 34-Season Five

Filmed December 7th 2011

Duration-45 Minutes

Omar Abdulla: Welcome to The 'Omar Abdulla,' SHOW produced by Footprints Filmworks...Today, we are in sunny South Africa located at the Union Buildings built over 200 years ago...Today, we will be discussing, sharing, talking and speaking about South African history and what p a s t leaders have learnt from our rich history...In studio today, we have former Presidents of South Africa including President F W De Klerk and Thabo Mbeki...Welcome to our show...Let's get to it...Is apartheid still being felt by ordinary South Africans in townships and central districts in our community of South Africa...?

Thabo Mbeki: Thank you Omar, and I love this show, keep's me glued...If you were to travel to townships including Diepsloot, Mamelodi, Soweto and Tembisa you would notice our blacks are partying in taverns run by white men...You would notice that many hawkers are selling to Indians, Coloureds, and White people who buy from these people...If you walked the streets of Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town or Durban you would see that our blacks are 'laughing and smiling,' with members from the community...I would say that many of our people are younger and apartheid is almost ridden by the country...South Africa was famous because of the 'Apartheid era,' and we have grown 'leaps and bounds,' since 1992...Many friends of mine are Whites and Indians and the Black Empowerment Groups are starting to reap rewards felt behind jail bars almost 30 years ago...

F W De Klerk: It's good to be in the company of world leaders and one cannot say that Apartheid is fully gone especially in white suburban areas including Alberton, Silver Lakes, Richester and Velmont...If you were to drive past the homes in these communities you would see that one home costs about R5 million rand whilst homes for blacks cost about R100 000.00...Many blacks are starting to penetrate the medium in South Africa although there are still very limited opportunities for them...Whites who made money are still 'In-the-money,' and reaping the rewards of legislation called forward by the current government...President Zuma and his men have always spoken to the media about ways of improving sectors in government and providing certain benefits 'free-of-charge,' to community leaders...

Omar Abdulla: What can a person living in a community like Laudium learn from past presidents including the two of you and President Paul Kruger, President Nelson Mandela, President Charles Swart and President Pieter Botha...?

F W De Klerk: You have to be a strong leader and have the passion to battle the foes of tomorrow...We can learn important lessons that 'a war was lost,' over a crippled horse....We can learn important lessons that no-matter what race or creed we belong too, we are all creation of God, and we all stand as one in the epic of life....We can learn important lessons that we dont have to be 'suffering,' to win and be happy....We can learn important lessons that all the money in the world cannot buy us Freedom, Democracy, Humality and Peace...Many communities in South Africa are starting to learn from Metropolitan districts in The United States, Canada, India and Greece that 'with unity lies strength...'

Thabo Mbeki: I like to look at the past to forecast the future and take the good and rid the bad...Many global leaders and countries can learn from South Africa and I'm sure the viewers will remember their history about South Africa whilst at school...I am not going to say what President Zuma and company should do better because they are doing their best, infact we all are...Monetary values have improved by over 90 percent since 1992 for most residents...We don't have to carry a pass to say that 'We are South African...' Our cricket, football, rugby and hockey teams can compete with world countries...Yet, do we say 'Thank you,' to our governement...Our national pride has become a first world country...Yet, do we say 'Thank you...' to our government...!

Omar Abdulla: Back in a moment...!

Omar Abdulla: Welcome back to The 'Omar Abdulla,' SHOW produced by Footprints Filmworks...While we were away I received an email from Melissa Amore from Pretoria who asks the panel what changes can South African's expect in the next ten years from government organizations...??

F W DE Klerk: When it comes to changes Melissa, you cannot ask your country what they can do for you, ask what you can do for your country...The problem with South African's is that they complain about 'little things,' instead of taking action by themselves...When I was President of South Africa I gave hundreds of speech's to residents talking about taking action from within your community...If you want better wages and salary increases 'take the change to the company...' If you want a crime-free country, take the change to members within your community...If you want longer lives and better old-age homes take action from within your community....If you want a government that does not patronize you take action within your community....South Africa is one of the longest serving members on the United Nations, League of Nations, World Economic Forum and other organizations and we are doing o u r best, sometimes better than our best...What changes we can expect is free education, free hospitals, free universities and free old age homes within the leadership presented to government....!

Omar Abdulla: We have a l a s t email from Francious Love from Alberton who asks the panel from the rich history of South African's and the wars fought, will South Africa merge with Zimbabwe as one country and will the South African rand be the base currency in South Africa within border limits...??

Thabo Mbeki: South Africa is one the verge of tying with Zimbabwe and Namibia to form one colony and serve as one country increasing space by more than 70 percent...Our R700 trillion rand decade economy will increase with due speed and pace and we have become the fastest growing country in Africa since 1992...I appreciate the work every South African does and 'we thank you...'

Omar Abdulla: That's all we have time for today at The 'Omar Abdulla,' SHOW and Footprints Filmworks...Tomorrow we will be back again talking about the different lifestyles of South African's and ways of bringing up 'your brand culture,' within the father nation....Toodeloo...!

Episode 35-Season Five

Filmed-December 11th 2011

Duration-45 Minutes

Omar Abdulla: Welcome to The 'Omar Abdulla,' SHOW filmed by Footprints Filmworks...We are located today in Arcadia, Pretoria where with the consent of my wife I decided to STAY with a b l a c k family for a month to do research on this program about lifestyles within the black, indian, white and coloured community of South Africa...After my month stay, they all said that I should be elected as President of South Africa for five terms because of my understanding and leadership of the black culture of South Africa...I stayed for a month with a family of five of whom I have interviewed today, and they have all said that a hunky guy like me should 'marry-a-black-woman...' We shall wait and see....During this month, I got to travel by taxi, I learnt what blacks eat, what blacks look for in marriage, and the 'day-to-day,' life of a black family in South Africa...In studio today, we have Marcia Lebogang and Jeffery Lebogang who are siblings who helped me through this month as I was doing research on black families in South Africa and the lives they lead...Let's get to it...What is the 'normal lifestyle,' of a black family in South Africa...??

Marcia Lebogang: I am 20 years old and Mr. Abdulla traveled with me every day to University and not once did he cry at the odd hours I studied and he even helped me with Maths, Science, Biology and Computer Studies and I want the audience members to give this 'Superstar,' an applauce because of his dedicated work in South Africa...Every day girls would queue to meet my new friend and they all said that he was this merky fellow who had the personality to 'dazzle them...' They all loved his smile, his attitude, his hot-looks and nominated him as the future President of South Africa...He got along well with my family always querying about our lifestyles and the way we lead our families...To be honest, he added a spark like a brother or 'movie-star,' in our home because he understood our family values and ethics...Our day would START at 8:am where you would not expect a Ferrari boy to travel by taxi almost 30km to my University...I had introduced him to my friends who all wanted to 'lock-lips,' with this star-studded hunk...Anyways we got to share meal times together and I could see an inner desire that he could improve not only our family's life but the lives of all South Africans...During my time, we talked about Apartheid, his leadership qualities for the future and what his fathers d r e a m s for him were...We as black women have changed and he knows this because we have an attitude about class, wealth, wisdom and health...

Jeffery Lebogang: Thanks to Omar for his awesome stay with us after my father had agreed to his research project...Yes, I would say that the family life that Omar learnt with us taught him about style and 'dress-code,' in South Africa and perhaps his respect for black people went up by 1000 fold...Anyways what Marcia says is true, the women were 'dazzed,' by his style and would often hold conversations with him for hours in the sunlight whilst he waited for her...I would often think that he looked like a PrinCe sitting under a tree reading a book when women would walk by and try to pick him up...He learnt that blacks are the 'most-gorgeous,' nation in South Africa and that if loved they can love you like no other woman can...I remember he once told me that he dated many Indian women in South Africa and 'never-in-his-life,' he seen a black woman love him so much and he knows who I am talking about...He learnt that blacks respect the Indian man, the White man and the coloured man and that what the media reports about blacks are all lies...He learnt that family is the m o s t important aspect of the mother nation and I remember how we spent hours together at local taverns 'dancing-the night-away...' Perhaps Omar himself should tell you more about the lifestyle he learnt from our black family in South Africa...!

Omar Abdulla: I come from a traditional backround where we are taught the religion of Islam and the laws of the religion...Before I start, I would like to say that I only ate halaal foods, and to me I acted as though I had nothing...I came to your family with a few rands and decided that I wanted to see, feel, hear and act like a black personality because of my goals towards the future...I enjoyed good conversation and learnt verbs of your language that would perhaps make our audiences laugh...To put it mildly, I am a wealthy personality whom my parents taught me the importance of a strong foundation towards the future...I realized that blacks have a certain class that we Indians don't have...I realized this one evening whilst I was dancing with Jeffery at a local tavern how easily woman pick a guy up...I was chilling have a glass of soda, when a bunch of women took my hand and said 'Let's dance...' It is kinda spooky being the only Indian man in a black tavern but I learnt that our responsiblities as true leaders come with experience in meeting thousands of people, literally...I remember once I met a woman in the township we were living who when I asked her, Do you have facebook, perhaps we could be friends and she said, "Here in South Africa, we don't do ghiga-ghiga over the internet, if you like a girl, go up and speak to her, and you might get lucky...The internet, and other chat-forums is something that Black South African's do not relate to because they believe in 'The hands on approach...' Back in a moment....

Omar Abdulla: Welcome back to The 'Omar Abdulla,' SHOW produced by Footprints Filmworks...While we were a w a y I received an email from Mevric Laska from Limpopo who asks Mr. Omar Abdulla why doesnt he marry a Black woman to strengthen his ties as the future President of South Africa...He says that he loves this SHOW and can't stop smiling about the 'wise-words,' of this SHOW...! Well, my answer to your question Mevric is that as a Muslim man, we are allowed four wives as our Prophet Muhammed (S.A.W.) stated and if she decides to convert to Islam, but still remain South African, I don't see the problem...Anyways, another email and this one to the panel asks What can Black South African's learn from Whites in the country and what is the experiences of white family ties in South Africa...??

Jeffery Lebogang: My word is that Whites are also part of the community and you would see that many of our whites earn above R100-000.00 rand per month because of their learnership at schools and universities...It is unfortunate that many of our white companies are presidice over employing blacks because of our past, and I can assure you that in due time we will be able to match the lifestyles of Whites...My boss bought a black BMW for R750-000.00 rand and I drive a Sudan and we work the same hours...I guess God answers our dreams at mid-afternoon and we shall work towards our dreams as one nation...!

Omar Abdulla: We have a l a s t email from Joshua TI Amo from Gauteng who asks the panel will South African's be able to cope with 'change in lifestyle,' and what can country leaders expect for the future...??

Marcia Lebogang: I suggest you ask Omar that question as I can say he learnt so much in one month with us, he wants to come back...I think that both parents in a marriage should be able to work to provide the family with the luxuries that normal families cannot afford...The day's of where the father brings home the bread are over as women are getting more and more into the tune of mainstream business...Most black families have two children, White families have three children, Coloured families have four children and Indians have the most children as per say in a marriage...The husband of the family cannot carry the burden of the 'bread-winner,' as wives should play more active roles in the income stream of the home...

Omar Abdulla: Thanks to our guests from The 'Omar Abdulla,' SHOW and Footprints Filmworks...Tomorrow we will be talking and speaking about private businesses, limited businesses, marketing tricks and schemes in South Africa for residents to be able to grow their businesses to be 'well-liked,' by South Africans and the global community...Jikanisa...!

Episode 36-Season Five

Filmed-December 11th 2011

Duration-45 Minutes

Omar Abdulla: Welcome to The 'Omar Abdulla,' SHOW filmed by Footprints Filmworks...Today, we are located at a waterfall park in Cape Town at the 'two-sisters,' river in Paarl-South Africa...We are joined today by two of South Africa's most powerful Ceo's including Ceo of Telkom Mr. Ruben September and Ceo of Absa Bank Mrs. Maria Ramos...Let's get to it...How does one lead and manage a successful business that has been listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange for the l a s t 50 years...??

Maria Ramos: Good Evening, Ladies and Gentlemen and audiences at home...Being a Ceo or Managing Director of one of South Africa's biggest brands requires skill, enthusiasm, honesty, love, passion and the willingness to 'move-on,' from past relationships with other banking giants...Being a leader of one of the biggest brands in South Africa-Absa one has to have the ability to work 48 hours without rest for one to be able to be a success in a business...Being a woman I have always lead our brand to be what it is, a commercial product that ensures safe and reliable banking in South Africa....Being a leader amongst a world dominated by men requires one to rise at 5:am and sleep by midnight and the ablity to remain focused at the goals set by the branches in the country...!

Ruben September: South Africa is a corporate giant in Africa and the rest of the world and leaders who toil in boardroom meetings, sit behind desks with computers, get interviewed on television and wined and dined by South Africa's leading women is the current taste of being a Ceo...But it was not the case almost 12 years ago where I walked the streets of Johannesburg trying to find a job in communication...I knocked on doors to local and international companies speaking about what I could offer them and 90 percent of people were not interested...I started with Telkom almost ten years ago and I have a similiar story to that of the person who was interviewed on The 'Omar Abdulla,' SHOW almost six months ago-Mr. Shameel Joosub...We learnt that being a leader of a corporation requires one to be steadfast in ones abilities and dreams and the notation that 'dreams do become a reality...'

Omar Abdulla: Let's say that I am a like 'Vuyo, the big dreamer,' and I have this idea that one day I want to be somebody who makes a difference in people's lives, the communities lives, the country's lives and global personalities and I don't have the qualifications behind my name to excel in business...What would you advice such a person...??

Maria Ramos: Remember whether you sweep the streets, or sit in on the highest floor of the building as a Ceo, you have to start somewhere...Your perception about business in South Africa has to change as Absa Bank has the largest 'skyscraper,' building in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town and Durban because of our 'ego,' as a company to be the biggest, the tallest, the highest, and the 'most-liked,' company in Africa...It's not a question of why we do business with people it's a question of why people choose us from the e i g h t recognized banks in South Africa...Remember that repetition is the mother of skill and if you keep trying God will grant you the success that you choose...If you are the average business in South Africa with five working staff and a small office and choose to grow your business on the banks of Absa Bank then I suggest that you actually put an effort into making your dreams become a reality...Absa Bank started more than 60 years ago and most of the viewers at home their father's are around this age...You have to do the research what makes businesses work, what makes customers choose Absa Bank as compared to another bank...Think of it like this...Will you date a woman who dresses in rags and smells like she has not brushed her teeth in days?? Or would you date a woman who is finely polished, wears sexy red dresses and smells like Issy Miyake...? You make the choice about yourself and implement it in your own business...!

Omar Abdulla: You put it very nicely, so how do we add this Issy Miyake fragrance to our business and the opportunities to draw customers to our businesses...??

Maria Ramos: The way to draw business is cleanliness funny enough...If you look at companies like Vodacom, Pick 'n Pay, Edcon and other listed companies they spend half their salaries on keeping their stores or franchises clean...Remember that if you want to draw customers to your little store advertise, offer free vouchers, offer incentives that people will shop with you...It's a simple game plan but it works...When I took over as Ceo of Absa Bank LTD I almost tripled turnover in two years because I understood that we should 'love-our-people,' and the rules of 'divide and rule,'only applies in wars and not in business...Brand change if you must...Staff change if you must...Risk change if you must....Demonstrate change from within the company to ensure faster growth in business...!

Omar Abdulla: Back in a moment...!

Omar Abdulla: Welcome back to The 'Omar Abdulla,' SHOW produced by Footprints Filmworks...While we were away I received many emails from you our valued supporters but have selected a couple at a random choice to our panel...This question states that with Barclays 41 percent share holding of Absa Bank, will Absa Bank re-sell the shares back to the public and re-buy the 41 percent stake worth R653 billion rand back by end of 2011...??

Maria Ramos: The 41 percent holding by the British Bank will not be bought back until 2015 where 15 percent is the amount forecasted to be re-sold to Barclays at a price already agreed to...We are only selling premier shares to the public that any person can trade through a stock broker at the Johannesburg Stock Exchange...We are working with merging smaller banks in South Africa under the ABSA banner by buying out Capitec Bank, and First National Bank which is on the cards in certain months...I always believe that buying smaller companies out and merging their customers with the ABSA brand will provide cheaper fees and better 'brand-ethics,' in our business lifestyle...!

Omar Abdulla: I have received a l a s t email from John Liebe from Paarl who asks Mr. Ruben September about the future of Telkom and how can small companies in the media business become a treasured brand like Telkom over the years...??

Ruben September: Telkom started when most of you were in your diapers and perhaps the grandfathers of time will tell of stories of the days of Telkom...The company started like small grocery store almost 89 years ago and today most African's can relate to the services that we provide because we believe in the risk of tomorrow...A rand yesterday was worth more than what it is today and will be worth less in the future...It's about dynamics and investing into the right products...As you all know our monopoly market is tricky because we have sold 27 percent of our shares to government to weed out future competition and this could apply to any business in South Africa...Remember that 'mingling with society,' wins the right friends in business...When it comes to Telkom we protect our 431 million customers by 'always providing,' the cheapest and most affordable prices on the planet...As for the future, take Telkom like a new-born baby that has to compete with China M0bile, America Communication, Canada Networks and Greece Prime Time...If you play with the sharks in business be prepared to be a shark or die...!

Omar Abdulla: Thanks to our guests from The 'Omar Abdulla,' SHOW and Footprints Filmworks...Tomorrow we will be back again, speaking to the community of South Africa about schools and universities in South Africa and what can our adults learn from students who attend our Schools and Universities....Hamba Kahle...!
